Over at Tidal magazine, we have a lot to say. But the world is a striking and bustling place, and Tidal has finite space, not to mention it only comes out twice a year. That’s where Current comes in. We are Tidal’s baby sister, ready to step up and take on all the beautiful work that spills over into those lush, liminal gaps that Tidal can’t contain. It’s a vessel overflowing with fun, color, and whimsy. We focus on approachable stories that pull you toward the familiar and then switch it all up with fresh, irreverent perspectives. So hop in, hang out with us—it’s a wild ride, and we promise to take the scenic route.

Anna Wolf
Though she’s been splitting her time between New York and Los Angeles for 18 years, photographer Anna Wolf is a California girl at heart. But shoots have taken her all over the world, including South Africa, Thailand, and France. In 2014 Anna launched Tidal & Current magazine, a place to showcase her work and the work of her peers, mixing New York sensibilities with a laid-back West Coast vibe.
EDITOR AT LARGE
Tawni Bannister
Tawni is a photographer and director. A Southern California native, her work is characterized by a carefree spirit — incorporating deft use of color with an honest, feminine, & elevated sensibility. Tawni is an alumnus of the Rochester Institute of Technology and spent several years as a photo editor in New York City, commissioning stories for several notable editorial publications prior to fully bringing forth her independent work. Tawni currently divides her time between Los Angeles & New York.
ART DIRECTOR
Cecilia Smith
Cecilia was born and raised in San Diego, CA and headed eastward to attend Skidmore College. She has been a Brooklynite ever since graduation. In her free time, she enjoys ocean swimming, film photography/videography, playing the drums, hosting dinner parties, perfectly ripe mangoes, spoiling her dog Trudy, and spreading the gay agenda. Fun fact, she is also a beekeeper.

Ashley Bischoff
With a love for making things beautiful, Ashley brings her design style and sensibilities to Current. Throughout the years, across states & continents she’s played designer, art director & creative director; breathing life to creative visions. The other hours in Ashley’s world are spent pouring herself into creating fun, simple & joyful childhoods for her daughters; as well as traveling, gardening, cooking.

Kayla Kern
Hailing from the midwest, Kayla quickly joined Anna to help create the first issue of Tidal Magazine. Now she is the eye on the design of Current. Through her 10 years in NYC she has worked in concepting & executing various campaigns, as well as design for events, catalogs, in-store displays, & more. Kayla also maintains quite a collection of houseplants. A green thumb they may say.

Lynn Aurélie
Lynn is a Brooklyn-based Haitian multi-hyphenate who lives up to her name. As a creative Lynn, works in Digital Marketing by day and runs her photo studio by night. And as a multi-disciplinary artist, her work is rooted in storytelling, conversation, and community building. When Lynn is not running around on a set somewhere, she can be found in bed binging episodes of The Office and New Girl. #selfcare y'a know?!

Jenny Bowskill
Jenny is an English designer whose shape shifting career spans 20 years, she has worn many hats from textile & graphic designer, art director, to social media curator. Originating from a humble village in south west England, Jenny’s love affair with color and pattern propelled her across the Atlantic to call Brooklyn home. Now living Upstate she continues to explore what design means to her whilst communing with nature and striving for the ultimate balance.

Erica Bogdan
Erica is a New York based writer, Googler, and certified beach freak. Passionate about creating beautiful systems, Erica joins the Current team as Production Director to help bring creative visions to life. In her downtime, Erica can be found rollerblading at the speed of light down the West Side Highway or singing loudly on a drive to Rockaway Beach.

Heather Adachi
Heather is a true creative enthusiast, starting with a background in fine art and progressing through graphic design, video, and animation, which all paved the way to her entry into the dynamic world of production. As a California native, a weekend with Heather would include enjoying some sunshine, being in good company, and, well, let's just say, ending with a “friendly” game night.

We're all things aesthetic here at Current. Graciela joins the team as our Photo Editor with her natural eye for creating visual art, to really drive the vision home. A writer, photographer, designer, creative, she can be found doing five things at once and somehow keeping it all under control. She believes in "the signs from the universe too," so be ready to make a wish at 11:11. (Ps : She LOVES coffee)
